About Your Donation

January 6, 2015 by awoolbert 1 Comment

The Transgender Human Rights Institute (THRI) is 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that is dedicating resources, finances, and time to bring Leelah’s last words of “Fix Society” into reality with Leelah’s Law.  Your tax deductible donations go directly to the mission of the THRI, whose purpose is to provide education, advocacy, and research concerning transgender rights, including the Leelah’s Law campaign.

Writing and passing laws to bring about social justice involves effort, time, expense, and often travel. Congressional representatives and other leaders need to be met with in person. The public will need to be informed, educated, and turned into allies through educational seminars. Tools and technology have to be maintained. There are computer servers that must be managed, Internet fees, website creation costs, social media that has to be actively managed, informational and promotional graphics to be designed, and a host of other tasks and tools that require financial capital to make them happen.

When you fund the THRI, you are funding the hopes of many to Fix Society and bring about Leelah’s wish.  We hope you will be a part of making this happen.
