‘Conversion therapies’ have been documented to cause great harms and in this case, Leelah’s death. Therapists that engage in the attempt to brainwash or reverse any childs gender identity are seriously unethical and legislation is needed to end such practices immediately.  Transgender youth have one of the highest suicide rates in the nation.  We must not allow therapists to increase those rates with therapy methodologies that have been demonstrated in harming transgender youth.

RIP beautiful, I wish we could have met and have been friends.
I wish I could have had your back, because we all need someone.

I’m from Costa Rica and I will do my best to help and stop this! Is not fair that someone who has the right to be who they really are had to kill her self cuz of something that is as normal as it is.

I never knew Leelah, never met her. I never knew anything about her, until her death was announced to the world.

I’m so ashamed at her family for not truly loving her like if she was there own. Because of their lack of love, parenting & support they lost a beautiful child.

I hope one day our WHOLE WORLD will accept the LGBT community.

As a whole nation, it is a must to work on acceptance & equality.

No matter what gender, race or sexuality you are, your still human & that’s one thing a lot of human beings don’t seem to understand.

I don’t understand why the LGBT community has so much hate. Especially when the community has done nothing to you, besides love who they choose to love.

Whether it’s shoes, an accessory, an animal or even simple things like food, loving ANYTHING is possible, which includes loving the same sex.

I hope Leelah gets her wish, because she truly deserves it. She deserves so much more then what her parents gave her & as for her parents, shame on them. If they were true Christians that lived their life by God, they would’ve accepted Leelah for wanting to be who she was because Gods loves all & everyone’s equal.

My dear, I know you’ll never see this, but I hope you enjoyed every bit of your last Christmas & last day here on earth my angel.

Horrible it just shows that our society is still too archaic and narrowminded in the ability too accept love and embrace those the societal structure believes too be DIFFERENT or wrong.

There is absolutely NOTHING wrong with transgender people at all there is however something wrong with parents and people who believe they are religious yet spread and preach nothing but hate and wanting those people they supposedly love too CHANGE in order too satisfy THEIR wants and needs.

RIP Leelah the time has past come for this kind of cruelty and archaic nonsense too end .

It should be our choice, no one else’s. And no one should have the right to try and change our mind.
