We are joining the many cities here in Ohio to come together in solidarity for a vigil for Leelah. A beautiful life was cut to short in such a tragic way. She asked that we “Fix Society”….so lets show society that we can make change happen! This will be a short vigil but we feel it is important and necessary to stand together, work together and rise up together so not one more young trans* persons life is thrown away. Wont you join us in remembering this young life and helping to make the changes she asked.

We ask that you invite all of your friends and let the light of one dream live on.”The only way I will rest in peace is if one day transgender people aren’t treated the way I was, they’re treated like humans, with valid feelings and human rights. Gender needs to be taught about in schools, the earlier the better. My death needs to mean something. My death needs to be counted in the number of transgender people who commit suicide this year. I want someone to look at that number and say “that’s fucked up” and fix it. Fix society.” -Leelah

Her death need not be in vain and lets show her she was not alone but we are standing up for all because #Translivesmatter
